I'm very excited about our new Magic History and Performance Theory section (coming soon).

We're working on the section with magic historian and anthropologist Paul Draper. Our mutual goal is to put together a fascinating and unique section on the Penguin site that will inspire performers to take their art to the next level through an enriched understanding of magic history and performance theory.

Paul Draper is the house Magician at the Venetian Hotel and has also performed at Caesars Palace. Paul has taught at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and has lectured at several international anthropological conferences.

From this month's TLR:

"On Halloween, Paul appeared alongside David Copperfield, Lance Burton, and Teller on the History Channel as a magic historian in conjunction with the History Channel's definitive work on Harry Houdini."
