I think from my experience you should not get into levitations. Nobody likes them because it's so impossible they know it's stupid. The people\actors on Mindfreak are stupid. Stick to card tricks they amaze people more. Just look at Oz and Jay performing to REAL PEOPLE.

I personaly like angel's levitaion the best. Both are real angel sensitive. With Criss's you can levitate onto something which adds reality to levitation. Criss is also a great teacher and you can make the gimick for less than $70 If you buy the cheap stuff and you do it yourself. (Be prepared to sew).

I am doing Criss's levitation on stage. To cover up bad angels I am using a cape. 8)

Buy Criss's levitation!

Just get the elevator or king rising. Angel's is good but its hard, and its not as clean at the end as it appears in videos. King rising is impromptu and needs no gimmicks, and the elevator is more angle friendly than most levitations. Those two things are the most important things to remember about levitations, how impromptu/easy, and how angle sensitive. So go with elevator or king rising. Really you should just do some card magic though, it seems old and unoriginal but theres a reason its been done forever and not levitations...

Kings Rising
 improptu
 easy to perform once practiced
 pretty cheap
 only viewed from one side
 can only get around 3-4 inches off the ground

Criss Angel Levitation
 not improptu
 quite expensive
 awesome looking levitation
 very angle sensitive (can be modified however)
 can get around 3-4 inches or 3-4 feet (depends on u)
 need an average to good balance

In my opinion i would definitely get the Angel levitation and i like it much better. Although it is angle sensitive, it can be modified so it isn't too bad. I'm a real levitation freak, so I really wanted a levitation that can get some good height of the ground. So the Angel levitation is best! in my opinion

To put it simply for everyone:

If your rich, buy Angels.

If you on a budget, but King rising.

King rising gets good enough reactions for me. Plus it's so easy for the angel levitation to be exposed. If the angle is off in the slightest, your screwed. King rising is impromtu and is not nearly as angle sensitive.

Christopher Sarantakos AKA (Criss Angel) Lev is good but the demo is misleading. Like the one in the food shop they show people sitting down in front of him. To put this in a street act, you should use this as your closer an walk away.

If I had to buy any, I would go for the elevator :l

But to be completely honest, self levitations don't interest me.

King Rising

Alot of misdierection involved

Not as amazing as the Criss Angel one

Can do it without a certain thing you have to be wearing with the criss angel one- completly impromptu

Criss Angel levitation

Alot of misdierection

Have to be wearing a certain gimmick you make

Better looking than the king rising

Way over priced

from here on you decide.

I did not even vote. None of these. Both levi's are just not practical in the real world of show business. Icarus Effect, sometimes, depending on the environment, but still not so practical. "FLY" levitation is, but all you kiddies just might have to wait until you are old enough to purchase one......'PIZ'

Stay away from levitations, they are so angle sensitive and with both Angels and Kings you can get caught pretty easy on the streets.

Also the angels levitation is so expensive, just imagine how many DVD's you could buy for the same ammount of money.

Stick with close up, just my opinion though.

Recommendations:

For card magic: Oz Pearlman born to peform

For tt magic: Darwin's Encyclopedia of TT Magic (!!!)
no its been exposed...
Disregarding the exposure, the average person you perform to will certainly not know how it's done. It's not widespread like The Balduci levitation.
