yes you do need to buy one.

and this should have been posted in advice.

fyi; read all the rules and you should do fine as long as you follow them and use common sense. 8)

If you buy Darwin's TT DVD set, they include a pretty realistic TT as a bonus. Otherwise, just get a Vernet TT for a few dollars and you'll be fine.

The Vernet TT does come with instructions on how to vanish a cigarrette. I think it also comes with an instant download on how to vanish a silk.

The book is alright, but I would suggest getting Darwin's Encyclopedia of TT Magic. It's a great source, and you get a free TT.

The TT is a basic tool, like a screwdriver. Although it might come with some very basic instructions, it's up to you to decide what you want to do with it. That's why there are books and DVDs on the subject.

The TT, I think is one of the best gimicks you can carry around with you. I have been doing magic for a long time and I have found that you can do a lot with a TT. You can make something jump from one hand to another, change something into something else, make things float, make a cigerette appear and disappear. Whatever you can think of.

a thumbtip. I would go with a vernet soft, and the book. If you want more info you can get the dvd set. if you are looking into bill switches with a thumbtip, then get a vernet hard TT.

Joker, David has been here quite a while, but I notice that you are a newbie. When you call one of the regular contributors a "loser" we do remember that when you ask a question. The answers you get may very well show you what we think of you then.
