I have been doing magic for groups on the streets, but never got any tips. Anyone know any good tricks for tips and that are easy for the streets?

Tips will come with time, practice, and presentation/performance. I’d suggest listing to all of the members on these forums feedback but especially some of the more experienced members.

Best of luck

At the end of your routine say "Do you have a dollar/pound/whatever?"

Then say "watch very closely". Put it in your pocket and say "Thanks very much, that's very kind of you". And walk away.

Do a search for the users Paddy and DaveV, as they're the ones that seem to give the best (or is it most) advice in that area.

"in the past the magicians performed their shows for the kings of the world.
these king will then pay the magicians.
ladies and gentleman: now is you time to be king"

"ladies and gentleman, how you make your money is your business. how i make my money is ... YOUR business too".

most streetperformers do it for the money
i do it for my pleasure
but the more you give
the more pleasure i have

if you give me 1 dollar i will thank you.
if you give me 2 dollars i wil thank you and give you a hand.
if you give me 10 dollars ... i'll go home with you

if you can't give me 2 dollars ... this show is free for you.
because I know the feeling

A PANTOMIME HAT LINE
"For all the people who don't understand what i say i will show it to you".

1 / take out a purse
2 / open it
3 / take something out
4 / let it drop
5 / it floats to the ground
(with you hand make a movement of a bill floating to the left and to the right until it drops in you hat)

i am going to teach you a trick.
everybody put your arms in the air.
now wiggle your fingers.
slowly move your arms down.
put them in you pockets.

(if you don't have a pocket put your hand in the pocket of your neighbor)

now take out your wallet.
take out $5 ...
and give me the rest.

The police have asked me not to make a loud noise.
So if you give me some money please fold it into a $5 bill.
This way it makes no noise
It doesn't fly away and
I am not getting arrested.

$2 = ok
$5 = nice
$10 = very good
$20 = normal

"ladies and gentlemen, it is like in church, the more you give the better you feel."

Get Greed, you will make a dollar everytime you perform it.

Getting tips totally depends on how entertaining you are for the spectators. Make them laugh, make them say Holy Shiznet, and make them feel like your friend(s) and they will fork over some cash.

Wow. If you perform it 6 times an hour you still don't make minimum wage.

Robert Blake gave you a lot of very good hat lines. However, there is a bit more to making money.
1. Be impeccable in your performance of all the effects.
2. String the effects into a very entertaining show. (My sidewalk show runs about 10 to 15 minutes and has 3 effects in it.)
3. Use patter to help be more entertaining, joke with the crowd, draw them in and make friends with them.
4. Sprinkle hat lines all throughout the show, let them know that you want them to tip you. It is like dating a girl, if you don't ask for it you will not get it. You can't just say "hey lets do it." You have to be subtle to be successful.

and always say:''this is how i make my living!''.

people should know that you live from the money they give you at the end of the show. teach them.and always ask $5,00 and ot $1,00 ask more and you will get it.

moeny lines is an art in it self - so first make and do a great show
