3. Half dollars (3)
4. Expanded shell (half dollar)

I sometimes carry cards but at school in my tight jeans pockets, its too impractical and teachers get you. so coins! (my love!) :P

I did one busking-style street show, and I used:

-Deck of cards
-Magician's Insurance Policy
-Rope
-Silver Dollars (3 Fly)
-Thumbtip and Silk
-Sponges

Usually I'll have cards and coins on me, maybe my sponges.

These are the things I carry for the streets or if I go to any parties or bars/clubs.

1. Self tying shoelaces (Ice breaker)

2. Four half dollars (Coin tricks)

3. Two dollar coins (One silver and one gold, transpositions and coin variety)

4. Some regular quarters (Just in case, sometimes i'll just borrow them)

5. One red Chinese coin (For transpositions and just to add variety)

6. Some gimmicked quarters (For Strebler's The Closer or Jay's PK Coin Bend and for Jay's Me and You)

7. A black sharpie (For signing the coins in some tricks and strike vanish/Coin from cap trick)

That's really it, Shoelaces to break the ice or get people to stop me and then it's all coin work from there. Best part is everything fits in my pockets but I have enough things to do so many effects.

Recently... a deck of cards and a Sharpie, and that's it. In my backpack I have the Joker in a bag for Witness (that comment may be misleading, but oh well), and that's about it. I used to carry an Invisible Deck, but I don't use it very often now.

Five and one TRANSPOSITION. Anyway, I hardly leave my house with nothing more than a deck of cards. If you are blaining, you are hardly ever doing more than four or five tricks for them, and if you are busking, then thats a whole different story.

If someone is "blaining" and their spectators will stand still long enough for them to do more than one or two tricks, they are lucky (or the specs have nothing better to do). As well, real-world busking magicians rarely do more than four or five tricks in a set -- some can get by with two or three, the key being the ability to take a simple one minute trick and extend it into a ten-minute performance piece.
