You don't make money walking around doing street magic.

You get a company or person to hire you to walk around a party or event.

You get a table and gather a crowd in a downtown area and hope someone pays you, unless you are good then you get paid quite well.

Doing magic on the streets is a lot of work actually.
As mentioned you won't make anything walking around.
You need to build a crowd, a big one, and impress people enough that they feel you deserve a few bucks for your efforts. If you have a small crowd, it will reflect as though you are nothing special.

Once you have the crowd you can have a hat out for them to put money into. I've also seen guys ask for money during or after there show.
All of this just isn't my style. A magician I know does do this. I don't know if I could.

good question. The answer is you get a job as a walk around magician. The way you get a job is to practice, practice practice, then after about 5 years of steady practice every day you might be ready to try.
