I am curious how many of you do the Cups and Balls in your street routine.
Personally, I don't for a number of reasons.
Recently, I had a conversation with a friend of mine who used to be a busker (now he is a lawyer, go figure) and he and I had a pretty long conversation about it. His contention was that they are a classic not just of magic, but of street shows. I wont rehash the argument here (unless it gets started by you guys LOL), but now I am wondering how many other people have deliberately left it out of their shows.
Oh, and feel free to give any reasons you have for doing/not doing them

When I was busking, I left it out of my show. Way too cliche. Not to fail mentioning the fact that these days, everyone seems to perform Gazzo's routine. Which is a variation (IMO) of Vernon's routine.

Yeah it works. Very entertaining. But so does origionality. Nothing is written in stone that you must perform Cups and Balls as a street performer. Nothing is written in stone that you must close your show with Cups and Balls.

I continue to use a simplified chop cup routine. I usually preface it with "i'm sure you've all seen the cups & balls right" I believe the cups & balls tend to confuse a laymens eye, where a chop routine is simple, easy to follow and packs quite a punch at the finale.
