I'm a close-up magician. I'm also a street performer. I would just like some quick tips/opinions on something I've been trying to decide on for a little while now. Lucky for me, I live very close to Boston and make frequent trips to Fanny Hall. (For those of you who do not know what Faneuil Hall is; HUGE tourist spot in downtown Boston, awesome place for walk-around street magic. Gazzo has performed there lots of times too, maybe I will see him one day )

Anyways, the main point is, should I continue street performing for tips, or more into a more professional venue, such as being hired out for parties/weddings/meetings/etc etc... I have printed up my own cards and do small routines with them and hand them out when I'm finished a little session to anyone who wants them. Stick to the streets? Move onto being a Hired Magician? Or mix it up with both.

I do both. there are times that I will turn down a gig because I know that I will make more on the street that day and others when the gig is going to pay more so just do both and enjoy.
