So, I was just curious if there is anyone in az who "busks" or does similar street magic. I would really like to see (possibly contribute? ;) ). I'm sure my son would like to see a "show" as well, rather than dad always showing him my newest stuff, lol.

I've been wanting to go to the local ring meeting or something, just to get to know some of the local guys. I've been pretty much practice in my room type of person for so many years, it would be nice to get more involved.

Thanks

Call William's Magic in Tucson. The owner, Emery, would probably know if anyone in at least his region is working the streets.

Go to the IBM website and look under AZ in the rings section. There you will find out ring meeting times and a contact person. Just google IBM to find site

In order to narrow your search to eliminate one of the biggest office machine companies in the world, just go straight to www.magician.org

Thanks, I've been to Williams just once a few months back. Very nice helpful guys (and gals). To bad I dont get down to Tucson very often. Actually probably a good thing, cause I'd spend too much time and money there, ha.

Also, I have looked up the local IBM ring, just need to get myself out to a meeting sometime.

Arizona is kind of different than other places because it is so spread out. There isn't a place where a lot of people are all the time that would be good for busking. Plus, people try not to be outside for more than 3-4 minutes at a time when it is 116 degrees out  .

I just was curious if anyone did, cause I've never seen it here.

Easley's costume shop in Phoenix also sells a lot of magic. They might also be able to help you out.

You also might want to hang out on Mill Avenue at ASU in the evenings. They have a lot of stuff going on. Sometimes you see buskers.

Of course, it has been a few years since I've been there ...

Yeah, I've always tried to get to Easley's whenever possible. Unfortuneately, they don't seem to be as interested in magic as they are noveltys and costumes.

I just graduated from ASU. I didnt spen much time on mill since I had a family and not enough money to make it interesing, lol. I would be there after a late class sometimes, but only ever remember seeing hippies playing guitars, lol. Good thought though.

It seems that in az, the best place would be outside a movie theatre. Most of them out here have a lot of other shops/dining just outside the theatre "plaza".

You have to be careful as that is private property. They (the managment) might think that for every dollar you collect in tips, that is one less dollar they will earn. I disagree with this logic, but you may have problems because of it.

Yeah, true. I'm not really thinking of doing anything anytime soon. I dont have enough time to practice. Maybe kid shows and small stuff for now. That was more of an observation than a plan, haha. If anything, I'd probably look into restraunts. There is a place nearby that pays a balloonist and face painter every monday. I wonder if they'd want a magic act?

Walk in and ask them. Sell yourself, why would they want a magician, etc...
