I was originaly planning to shout magic show!!
then once I get avbout 4-5 people start with a flipstick vanish of my wand into coin pouch which would start my first routine.

imo the flipstick vanish is xtremely angle sensitive i don't know if this is because i have thin forearms or If I am doing somehting incorrectly. But I do not want to mess up live.

Other than jugggling what else can be done to gather a crowd, or should I just shout Magic SHOW", then tell them What I am going to do ( like sunny Holiday) and then Do it?

I do the flipstick all the time to gather a tip. Also consider blowing a whistle then shouting "magic show." Anything to get their attention. Remember the 3 rules. get them to stop. Get them to stay. Get them to pay.

Flipstick can be covered from all angles. Check out Cellini's "Art of Street Performing" for an example.

yeah but I live in california and there is rarely a need for wearing a jacket So I don't know how I will be able to cover it as well.

What's your opinion of the advice on Jimmy Talksalot's vlog?

I'm not sure that the Penguin mods would like me too much for linking to another site's video, but Magic Geek released a few videos on beginning street magic, one of the topics being gathering a crowd.

It actually has some good advice. The only thing that I would change in the video is he doesn't have a table (imagine he'd be doing a lot of bending over while the camera's not on him).
