The Hoyle Playing cards are basically a standard deck to many poker players, if those poker players don't use bikes or tally-ho's. (Hoyle are generally cheaper than a deck of bikes.)

Yet, the quality of the Hoyle playing cards isn't very good in my opinion.

They feel plasticy, and dehydrated, and don't really fan well at all. The one thing they ARE good for is flourishing, because they last a long time. They are also very good for throwing, due to their rigid and plasticy stock.

Breakdown:

Fanning: 3/10
Stock: 3/10
Durability: 7/10
Cuts: 7/10
Magic: 3/10 (most people are familiar with bikes, not hoyle cards, anyway.)

If you want to try these cards due to the back design, which is "cute", I'd recommend picking up a deck, but other than that, I think you can pass on these if you don't like the backs.
