Looks like IT, but the hook-up is definately worth $5. I think I'll use this on my mother-in-law to once and for all to prove she's full of hot air.

Swayze: the ad does say there no strings.

While this does make me curious, I can't really see this working well in front of an audience. "Watch me float something that normally floats!" I don't see it.

You can first show that it does NOT float on its own. It's all about presentation.

I bought it; the method seems unrealistic for everyday use, and it is not angle-proof. I give it a 2 of 5.

I agree with mgcrbbt that it's unrealistic for everyday use. But it should be a nice effect to insert into my balloon show.

He could be using Copperfield's Flying illusion principle. You know, like the balloon has a harness inside and there's a track above the stage that carries the balloon around. And they could play that pretentious LuftBalloon song. For five bucks it must be a rental...
