and that, my friends, is what happens when you treat magic as a juggling act instead of an interaction of astonisment and fun between yourself and your audience.

So i guess it's gonna be Dan The Man productions from now on.

He kinda makes it seem like dan was the one that found a passion for magic and card juggling and he was just kind of pulled into it as the beta twin or something.

Actually, it's what happens when you decide to go to film school.

I'm certainly not a fan of Xtreme flourishing, but there's absolutely no reason to connect Dave's decision to pursue a career in film with the specific style of entertainment he and his brother were doing. He wants a career in film. He's working toward that. Good for him.

And it's pretty much what Dave said.

He didn't say, "I'm quitting because card juggling sucks."

He said...

"I grew up respecting the work of Spielberg and the way that he juxtoposed intimate dialogue in stories larger than oneself. I've always wanted to recreate that feeling in others, and to inspire many more people through storytelling in film, rather than pasteboard."

"however, my love of magic and the art has waned over the past several years." Which i think comes from/came from a lack of fullfillment from what he does which, in my opinion, comes much more from real performances of magic for people than from card juggling and pure technical mastery (though that is fun sometimes too).

I'm not saying "oh the film school thing is bull and thats not really why he's giving up magic" i'm just saying that he would still be going to film school but he might still have a love for magic if he wasn't sort of defined by the "card juggling"

That's why I didn't respond to it. I saw the date it was posted on and just assumed. I don't believe that this guy would quit his success for that reason, he could though, and that's why its a good prank, but I just doubted it.
