is there a method to use an *ungimmicked deck* to perform a card transpo without the use of a duplicate extra card? the transpo i am referring to is the simple.... dL (show indifferent card), hand duplicate to spectator, dL (show other card that matches card in their hand), turn over and "you've already switched them.

i don't believe the previous paragraph is exposure mainly because a lay-person would not understand the description. any help or advice on an ungimmicked w/out duplicate transposition, please reply. thank you

I recreated one that Paul LePaul also published in his book. Essentially, and I'm going to be really vague. DL and table the top, DL and hand the new top to someone, pick up the original and TC.

The Altman Maneuver (2nd method) in the Art of Astonishment books is pretty good. I know some others but I can't think of where I learned them from right now.

Joel Paschall taught me a non-duplicate transpo using a one-handed version of the MacMillan Switch. I'll try to find out from him what the sleight is called and where you would be able to find a source to learn it from, and then get back to you.

Daryl shows 2 neat impromptu duplicate methods on his ACR DVD that you could possibly use for a transpo. Also cool way to start off a ACR for the first phase or so.

I always use Rapid Transit from RRTCM, with my own choreography and a different sleight for the final move.

rise and swap in card college. It's easy to alter it into a straight transpo. I use this all the time when I have a regular deck and get asked by someone new to show magic.

Here's a method I came up with a while ago after reading an effect in The Secrets of Brother John Hamman. I never particularly liked the choreography required for the top change method, and while this handling isn't radically different, I think the action flows a little more smoothly.

As soon as I read this I came up with a way to use that method as a transpo. I've played around with it and really like the results. I'll try and film it and post it tonight (home for the holidays, no camera where I'm headed tomorrow :( )

Gregory Wilson's Double Take, which teaches all aspects of the DL, teaches a no duplicate/gimmick transpo. It's pretty straight-forward and easy to perform.

It isnt a transpo of 2 cards but the Daley Leaper is a cool transpo of a single card.
