What is the name of the effect where the magican tells a story about a guy who had five cards and keeps throwing away two only to be left with the five cards in his hand agian. I have seen it perfomed by several magicians and I like it and was wondering what the name of it is and where could I find a booklet on it?

Five card opener. Search google, you'll get a master list of all places it can be found.

Either that or 6 Card Repeat. Michael Finny has a great handling on his L&L set.

I've never been a fan of the six card repeat. It may just be looking at it through magicians eyes, but it just always seemed dumb to me.

I agree. It has no build, no emotional involvement. It's just the same thing over and over. That's why Josh Jay's Vegas Vacation is my favorite version.
