Otherwise, I can envision a multitude of methods. He could be using more than one. I see about three different methods during that short clip.

I'd look for material on key card, deck stack, Gilbreath Principle, marked cards, stripper deck.

That should keep you busy for a while, and even if you don't replicate his effects exactly, you'll have a pretty powerful routine you can call your own.

Here is a couple of things...
1st This is not a descussion forum that is into sharing specific methods. That would be okay in a Penguins Only forum so long as the methods are specific to the performance of the effect the PO forum is set aside for.
2nd. Though it is not the same method, if presented well, it will give the same effect to your audience. Beginning and intermediate magicians get too hung up on the method. The real secret is presentation. I guarantee you that in a layman's eyes they were handed a deck, they shuffled the deck and found a card, and you determined what that card was. One of these is already available as a $5.00 download, another looks like pre-hype for an effect about to be marketed. You can decide if the $5.00 is worth it to you, whether you would rather wait for this other effect to be marketed(which may never happen), or if you can come up with your own way of doing the same effect. One way or the other this is not the place to postulate about the specific of the method.

I also have something to add. This guy is obviously a kid (the way that I am young but not a kid) who joined this forum so he can have people help him try and figure out tricks.

I found out the way I mention yesterday is not the good way.

I can sprite the card to two part one stack with odd number the other stack is even number
if spectator pick the odd stack after she deal down the card to 14 and stop.
when she shuffle two stack together I can count the ODD card from the bottom the 14TH card.

I wish can found out the way don't need to watch how spectator shuffle the card after her put the card back and found out the card like the video.
in the video spectator pick a card and shuffle all on him back.

in Taiwan there are two people found out how he make it and they say is base on some way in some cards trick book long time ago but nobody release DVD.
The books are English Version but they don't tell me the books name.

I could pull that trick in a different way. I would used mechanic skills to pull it off.

I would give the people a STRAIGHT DECK, NO TRICK DECK, tell them to pick a card. They would pick a card just like the people did in this demo, however, I would tell them to put it on top the deck. They would return the deck to me, I would false shuffle such a manner that heaven above would think the cards are being shuffled, but here is the clutch of the trick, I would then pass the deck to one of the other spectators to cut the deck. And when they cut the deck, the card that the first spectator picked will be on top the deck. This will work for me 98 times out of a 100. I have WON countless amounts of money on that trick, and it is done with a straight deck, no trick deck. In the demo, I am quite sure some trickery with the deck is included.
