So I really want to get Stealing Pips and Born to Perform but I have to be at home to learn antyhing. So what book would you recommend for a good range of card tricks? I'd also like to learn the Ambitious Card Routines, would your book of choice cover this?

Start with Royal Road to card magic. Then work your way to Art of astonishment. Sets 1-3.

Buy Royal Road by Hugard and Braue for ten bucks, then buy Card College volumes 1-4 (get volume 5 later).

I don't recommend Harris'sAOA until after Card College.

Im reading the review on card college as we speak. It would truely depend on the persons skill level. But yea card college looks like a great start for someone just entering card tricks and sleights.

i have card college 1&2 and it is a good way to start. it begins with some fundamental grips and moves. everthing is very well explaned and illustrated. i love those books!

Yea they look like they are good buys indeed. I will most likely be purchasing CC, AOA and RRTCM during next payday.

AOA is incredible too, just a little advanced for someone new to magic. These are some of the best books for learning tricks ever made!!!
