I'm really new to card tricks and what exactly will this book teach me? I really want to perfect my marlo tilt and techniques used in an ambitious card routine. Am I going for the right book?

I edited the above so it was more readable. You have to admit that if you learned everything in this book well, you would be a pretty darn good card magician.

Are the illustrations pretty good in Royal Road? I have to have good illustrstions. I am a total moron and close up magic escapes me. Are their any good videos or DVDs that teach the same body of sleights?

yes - Daryl’s encyclopedia of magic - volumes 1-8 one of the best buys i ever did, he goes really fast but covers a lot of moves.

you can watch 10 minutes of tape a week and not have enough time to practice - he covers hundreds of moves..

There are not very many illustrations in RRTCM. However, it was written from the perspective that you have never even picked up a deck in your life and will step you through to Intermediate level. It is designed so you work on a chapter at a time, and once you are familiar with its material you move on to the next one. And the next chapter builds on the proceeding one. I can't recommend this book enough.

if ur mainly visual learner and u prefer pictures, RRTCM will be a little of a pain to read for you, but yes its a good book

If you do not know the marlo tilt try the lepal bluff pass. Im most likely going to nuy this book too.

What I don't understand is, and all insults aside, how in the heck did you learn the marlo tilt and ya haven't even ever read RRTCM? Did you start out in card magic by buying some marlo video, or just happened to learn it from a friend or what?

Woah Gary, that's impressive. Do you have Modern Coin Magic? I'd like to know what that's like.
