weaving the cards

i have trouble weaving the cards to do a shuffle. any tips?

I know this isn't the answer you want, but practice. Also try with new and old cards. Bicycles tend to faro nicely right out of the box, but some cards need to be worn in a bit. Also, if you can't get the weave started by just pushing, try sliding the cards back and forth.

ive found that i can do almost a perfect faro if i tilt one the the halves at an angle and then weave them together.

It also depends what type of faro shuffle you are speaking of. Do you mean an in the hands faro or a tabled faro? A tabled faro shuffle is much harder than an in the hands faro, so I'd master the latter first.
