What's this 'Las Vegas Card Leaper' I sometimes hear magicians talking about?

It's a Paul Harris trick found in AOA volume 1 and taught on Ammar's ETMCM's volume 1. Great trick by the way.

its a cards across. you give a spectator a pack with 10 cards and you hold a pack with 10 cards. one at a time three cards travel from one pack to the other. in the end you have 7 cards and the spectator has 13.

may i add this effect is pretty stunning. ive done it several times and it just leaves ur audience stunned because they count ten cards to begin with.

AOA vol. 1 also includes a Bill Malone version where two people from the audience hold the cards and each count ten and then three cards travel from one to the other.

I prefer Las Vegas Leapers over Bill Malone's version (taught in On hte Loose) a hundred times better.

Oh...well...I do a similar effect. A packet of 10 cards are given to and counted by the spectator. The spectator holds on to it. One card is palmed off the deck and invisibly transferred into the spectator's packet. This invisible palming occurs three times.

Sounds good.

The beauty of Paul Harris' method, though, is that you never touch the cards after the spectator gets them--and the spectator is the one who counts the cards--and the trick is so easy that it literally requires no tricky slights.

Yeah, the one I do is the same I think. Once the spectator has the cards, you do the 'invisible palm' three times and not even touch the cards. I forget where I learnt this though .

Do you mean you are doing "fake" palms or real palms, because Harris' trick requires no palms.

Now that sounds like an interesting way to do the trick. Hmm....

You pretend to palm a card off the deck, then blow it into the spectator's hand. Looks pretty magical, but three 'fake' palms are pretty repetitive. I'll need to change it a little to make it seem more realistic.
