if anyone on this board does a signed card trick this is for you. Start your ACR by having them name any card in the deck. Thing is, when you buy a new deck take one card out of it and remember what card it is, preferably your favorite card for ease. when they name a card, say KH, my fav, if the KH is the one you took out hand them the deck and tell them that is the only card missing from the deck, and it will be. If the KH is not the card you took out, go on like normal and hand them the card they named, procede with your ACR. It's hit only twice for me but it totally screwed with their mind. let me know what you guys think.

when it works it hits like the invisible deck. Just a random named card missing from the deck, or random named card face down in the deck. They just hit the same.

I would much rather just use an invisible deck. To you the effect you named seems better than the invisible deck because it doesn't use a gimmicked deck, but the spectator doesn't know that the Invisible deck is fake. Just use an invisible deck, that way you have a 100% chance and not 1/52.

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say...

He is saying that when you go out strolling or whatever, keep one of the 52 cards in your pocket and remember it. Before your ACR, have your spectator select a card by purely naming it aloud. If he names the card in your pocket, you have a minor maricle. If not, go on with the trick.

The guy (I think his name was Nate) who won the first illusionist (with an E) contest uses something sort of similiar. He has the spectator name any card in the deck. Then he tells them to turn over the top card. Chances are it won't be it, but he has a funny little line he adds in; "That would be pretty cool though right! One day it's going to be the named card."

It's a good line. Imagine someone naming a card and BAM it's on top. Great intro to the ambitious.

...and then what? You either have to do a deck switch, or you are out of tricks.

The original poster's idea is fun (I've often used something similar to what's described in the post immediately above this one) and worth using. (Apply some psychology and put the Queen of Hearts and Ace of Spades in your pocket and have some fun with that - many people will name these cards.)

I do this with the ace of spades, sometimes works.. read David Blaines book, he tells which cards are the most named, etc..

yeah, I read Davids book and he really only named 2-4 cards that were most common, but what are the chances of them getting the right card????

They're not saying it's a necessary trick...If it happens to hit you have done something completely impossible...If it doesn't nothing is effected...They have no idea that you put a card in your pocket or on top of the deck and you can go on as if nothing happened. I've done something similar before and if they don't name that card there is no down side. If they do name the right card it has an incredible effect
