hey guys, I have royal road to magic, I want to get expert card technique, but I'm wondering is it anydifferent or are the two books similar? I'd consider myself semi-intermediate, not beginner though. or what other books are good for learning new harder sleights and tricks?
thanks

I love "Card College". It's a great reference that is very well written. You know some books are hard to follow, but it is not the case here.

I believe expert card technique is the sequel to royal road. I happened to stumble across two copies of this book in my collection, and I will be giving one away free soon on Penguin.

I read here a number of times that ECT is a sequel to RRTCM, but judging from what I could find the about the copyrights on the two books ECT actually came out first. Although there is overlap between the two books, ECT definitely has more advanced content.

Here is a link to a recent thread where Dar_kwan actually posts a table of contents from ECT:

For the price of the book, you could get something out of it that would be worth while.

I'm not putting card college down, but for your moneys worth, I would surely go with Expert Card Technique, for the price you learn a lot of good sleights, second dealing, and false cuts, and false shuffles, and all kinds of good stuff, it even has its own chapter on ambitious card, get the book and stop asking, trust me you won't be unhappy ;)
