I use greeting cards whenever I can, Hallmark can get a bit pricy though. Occasionally Bicycles will suffice.

LOL. Hallmarks...

I recommend bicycle also. Definatley the best quality.

A word of advice, DON'T do tricks with the kinds of cards that have different edges. My neighbour wanted me to do a trick and handed me a deck of cards like that... it bombed..  I've learned my lesson.

Ummm ones with the numbers 2-10 and the letters j,k,q,a and should be pictures too....Hearts, Diamonds, Spades(those shovel looking things), Clubs (those clover looking things with all the bumps around them).

Hey any deck you can find should be good usually the newer the better but not in all cases.

My preferences...Bicycle and Bee Poker sized...

Yes there Bridge sized and Poker Sized...Bridge are smaller than Poker and Poker are larger than Bridge.....

Hope this helps....

Btw about the top.....J/K

Perhaps he means without white borders? That's the only thing I can think of that makes sense.

I sort of like Tally Hos and Bees, but the thing is, bicycles are much better, because all the gimmicks use Bicycle cards. I don't actually use many gimmicks, but when I do it looks much less dodgy if I take out some of the cards which I normally use, rather than a different pack. Because of this I feel the only cards magicians can really use is Bicycle.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I've seen them too. Many casinos retire their cards rather quickly. Then they cut off corners, drill holes, or something else to the decks. The decks get sold, and they get some money back on them. They maim the cards in some way so you can't exchange one of the casino's cards for one you brought with you.

oh if ur talking about casino cards yeah
a lot of the bigger casinos punch holes or chop of corners of decks after one game and give em away
casino cards are better for playing card games, not doing magic, their really stiff and slippery

btw, I found an old pack of budweiser cards I had, and their the same size as regular bikes but its soo much easier to do card springing with em, I think its cause their slightly flimsier... idunno

yeah.. i bought some years ago as a practice deck. sometimes they go on sale for $0.99. but even thro years of abuse... they still spread like new and feels really good. altho they did get a bit softer but its all good. other than that, Bicycle is pretty much the standard for all card magic tricks. most card gimmicks are made using bicycle cards. get a box at costco... comes 12 in a box for about $10. super cheap 8)
