Yes, and there's a difference between half dollars and silver dollars.

I practiced for about and hour and a half and i got it to about 3 inches.
I woke up the next day and I couldn't put the coin in classic palm due to the pain so I'm going to start again tommorow.

lol i keep hearing about how it's painful when practicing. Is it because your hand muscles get sore from the repetition? Or does the actual move itself hurt and bruise your hand muscles?

both. It's not as painful as people say. It's like if you run to much or throw baseball or something too much it starts hurting the next day. It hurts because we never excersise that muscle. It just hurts when you touch that part of your hand.
