Hey fellas,
Tonight I've been looking through Jb Bobo's Modern Coin Magic, and wanted to search it up on Google to get some history on the book, and Bobo himself. So i typed 'jb bobo modern coin magic' into Google and what do you know, the first result I got was on Google books, where it has the entire book of Modern coin magic for anyone to read. What the?

Anyways, just thought I'd let you guys know about it, cause it seems pretty weird.

doo doo doo doo...
*bookmarked*

doo doo doo..

just kidding!

I don't know why, but surely they must have permission from Bobo himself or the publishing company to do that.

When you were looking through the book, didn't you notice that the first several pages are packed with information about Bobo's life?

It's public domain, that's why. Once a book falls into the public domain, they can be distributed freely. They don't need permission from Bobo. You can actually search for a lot of old books on Google.

When does a book fall into public domain?
Author's life plus 75 years right?

I believe it's life plus 70 years. But some times it can be recopyrighted. That's just when the copyright is done though.

Actually, the entire book is NOT on Google. Several sections are not available. Although there is a lot of good material out there!

I found RRTCM as well but again, there are only selected sections available.

I can't imagine how anyone would be able to learn from that online book viewer though. It's such a hassle to even read the words, let alone apply them to magic. Buying the actual book, which you can take up to your room and read whenever you want, skim, or refer to, is much more beneficial. Plus it makes you more committed.

true. I think that it is true with any product that is downloaded.
Physical stuff becomes more important to your brain, for example, if you downloaded a cd illegally, or bought a cd, you would take much more better care and appreciate the CD better then the downloads. The downloads are "free", and you didn't have to give anything to get them. They have no real emotional meaning to you.
