I am just getting into more formal pieces of coin magic, and one of them is the cylinder and coins. sadly though, i know almost nothing about this routine. could somebody please describe Ramsay's cylinder routine? from there on, i will just work on it on my own.

The standard routine I've seen is to show a small piece of cork and a leather tube. You produce three or four coins make them vanish. They reappear in the tube under the piece of cork. They pick up the cork and visually change it into the coins and show the cork back under the tube. They CAN examine everything if you like to hand stuff out. It's a really pretty routine. I've heard great things about Paul Wilson's routine from Porper if you have that $1200 to invest. You can get the cylinder from Frank at TheAmbitiousCard.com, the stack from Lassen or Schoolcraft, and the cork from your mom's winebottle after dad runs off (or maybe that's just where I found mine. Joking of course. Get a sense of humor losers). Wilson's routine also uses a wand and rattle gimmick. You can use either halves or dollars for the routine depending on the size of your audience. Dan Watkins performs his routine, which is beautiful, on his Coin Man Walking video. Too bad he doesn't teach it.
