I love the original routine, and to this day it is one of the best CIB's. However, how do I get the coin to shoot out of the mouth of the bottle. Does anyone have any advice. I'm trying to perfect the routine, but this particular part is pretty hard.

When you say "shoot out of the mouth" are you referring to getting the coin back out of the bottle? If so, it does help if you have a bottle that has a nice smooth taper to the mouth section.

It's just a matter of making the downward thrust of the bottle and then quickly coming to a halt. If the coin is a double cut, I find these come out a little easier than the single cut. Hope this helps.

your answer is perfect tom. Thanks. Looking at bobo's and the included instructions, this was never mentioned. I guess its a trial and error thing. Thanks! Out of curiousity, do you perform the CIB with a laser cut coin? Or do the traditional ones work fine with you?

You could just use a subtulty such as the one Johnny Thompson uses to switch the coin while leaving the coin in the bottle.

I have the single cut laser cut coin, but find it a little easier using the double cut profile coin when loading the coin in the mouth of the bottle.

I'm sure you already know this but... You should NEVER allow the spectator to see you extract the coin from the mouth of the bottle. This will give them the correct impression of how the coin got in there in the first place. As illusionists we should never give them the CORRECT impression.

I rattle the coin in the bottle and turn it upside down, one hand around the mouth of the bottle, remarking how it's impossible to remove the coin. "No matter how hard you shake it." A coulple quick thrusts toward you waiting hand and the coin slides out. I use the original coin behind the bottle so show the coin still in there and squeeze it out the bottom.
