Try the Coin Shops in your area, sometimes they have buckets of old worn Coins you can rummage through.

Amen, Brother Frijid ! I did just that and got myself 4 very nice Morgan Dollar coins, just smooth enough yet with plenty of detail, for $12.50 each.

Where did you get them that cheap? I want to shop where you are shopping!

im going to give this out randomly and you might want to try it. i got an a+ in almost every science class i have taken. try taking a mixture of coca cola and salt+vinegar and leave a coin in it for maybe an hour or two. then take it out, wash it, and sand it slightly.

Practice more.

Over at the Cafe a coin worker once said that Walking Liberties are perfect for noiseless coin work. He then said that he only uses Kennedy halves because half the fun of working with coins is knowing that at anytime the coins could make a noise and the trick is blown. I take it he practiced until the noise went away.
