I'm new to coin magic and I've been hearing people talking about coins talking less and stuff...are they insane or is this an expression for something?

"Talking" stands for the noise they make when sliding against each other. New coins "talk" a lot. Smoother, older coins "talk" less. If you want something almost totally silent, you're probably better off with Casino poker chips (Clay type, not the ribbed plastic ones people use at home)

hes right. lets say you are palming a coin and displaying a coin in the same hand and the coins touch, they will "talk" or Clink. you DONT want this usually lol. Jay sankey has something in his rev coin magic 2.0 dvd where you let the spectators hear 2 coins clink together and then one passes through there ear. its a fun thing to do.

That's called a click pass, basically you are selling the fact that two coins are ending up together. This is one of the only times "talking" coins is good.

It's looks and sounds like the old clink pass, but you actually vanish both coins and not just one!

Gotcha, I misread what you wrote.

Also, if you are performing Three Fly or something similar, you may have heard of 'soft coins.' This refers to well worn coins, so they don't 'talk' when moving around. Just thought you might want to know...

No problem. the clikc pass kicks butt though. if you are dealing with a difficult spectator, the click pass really sinks into them.
