HI! I just got a scotch and soda coin set made by jonston at a local magic shop. I am impressed my how tightly the coins fit together, but is it tight enough? When i turn the half doller over the other coin falls out emedietly! Their is no need for the bang ring and the coins will fall apart emedietly opon inspection!

will i just have to get another set, or is their a solution to this.

i tryed the trick on my little brother and it fell apart when he handed my the 1/2 doller!

thanks! (and sorry for the awfull spelling!)

Yes ... absolutely ... return it to your local Magic Shop and get a better one.
It is NOT supposed to fall out like that ... it's supposed to be a tight fit.

You can always try to roll the shell on its edge on a hard surface by putting slight pressure on the edge as you roll it, however, you do risk not getting the centavo out if you over tighten it.

Are you sure both sets you went through were Johnson ? ... that doesn't sound right because Johnson makes good quality Coins !
Unless of course the sales person was trying to pawn off defective Coins on you.

Nope, they were Johnson's. I found two in a recent order that did the same thing. It seems that they just had a bad batch. We sent one back for a replacement and I kept one for a reverse Sun and Moon.

Lol am I the only person that knows that the fit of scotch and soda is adjustable?

That is very easy to fix, you put the shell in the bang ring face down and push on the center some, and it bends the shell a little and tightens it. If you want it looser, you put it in the bang ring with the face of the coin up and push, and that will bend it out some loosening it as a result.

It would take quite a bit of adjusting on some of these. It seems the machine that cut them was off. Besides, it's Johnson. They've got a guarantee, so I'm personally not going to bother trying to fix something myself and risk messing it up more.
