can a folding quarter be used as a bite out quarter or does it fold cleanly? I just ordered one for coin in bottle and I am trying to find other uses for it

It's cut around the profile of Washington's face. From a moderate distance it should look like it's "bitten."

The Folding Quarter is what we used long before the Bite Out Coin.

For a long time I thought the "Bite Out Coin" was a folding quarter, just with a name change to cash in on the Blaine thing.

I'm sure it will look bitten from the tails side.

Until I read this, I still thought that the folding coin was the same as a "bite out coin"

one thing that disappoints me is that i am having problems with my folding coin, i used to use the thing all of the time about a year ago, i just got it out again from all my stuff and now i cannot get the rubber band on. its literally impossible. I'm using the same rubber bands as i did about a year ago when i used the coin so much. its upsets me that i cant even put the device together.

the rubber band won't even go into the notches at the edges. and im really not sure whats going, or what im doing wrong. any thoughts?

Is it the same rubber bands that are a year old? Rubber bands really do change with time. Usely get old and break more ez. Try brand new ones.

The reason the new rubber band is not fitting into the groove is because some of the old rubber band needs to come out of the groove. This happens over long periods of time. Especially if it's been in there for a year.

Get a real sharp knife that will fit inside the groove and clean out all the old rubber that is stuck in there. Sometimes it's hard to see. They usually come out in very tiny pieces.

What I do when I'm not using the folding coin is remove the rubber band, then I don't have to deal with all this cleaning everytime I want to use it. I can place a band in the groove in about 1 minute. It sure beats cleaning it for 10 minutes.

i have the folding quarter, and i use it all the time as a bite coin. i literally do the effect inches from their face and they start to freak out. the coin is not cut straight across, so it works fine. there is no reason to get both the folding and bite quarter. folding quarter recommended. hope this helps!
