I like them. I use them with the Charming Chinese Challenge routine. They have a little weight, but aren't too heavy. The only thing I don't like is the dragon design on them.

I find the dragon on the reverse side terrible looking. The coin is nice because it also has a dollar size and jumbo size companion coin... which can be purchased separately. They are super light, and I find the paint does not chip. I prefer the Sterling Magic Chinese coins for Charming Chinese Challenge. If you ever consider getting the Expanded Shell, I warn you it's not very good. Much worse than any other Expanded Shell I've seen.

What are you using the coin for? That can maybe make it easier to tell you if it's good or bad.

I just need a coin that is the size of a half dollar, for various routines.
None of which uses a shell

Yeah, the shells look terrible.

I like these for the CCC routine. The Sterling coins are just brass washers with symbols painted on them. I had some issues using them for the routine and found these much easier to separate.

Then I think these coins would be a good choice.

I am partial to the Johnson Chinese Coins + Expanded Shell (Hong Kong Coin) which I use all the time.

Yes, and I think the washers look wonderful. I really feel as they're some of the nicest Chinese coins I own. Too bad there is no Expanded Shell for them, or I would pick one up faster than you can say Charming Chinese Challenge. I really like how thin the Sterling coins are.
