Hi everybody!
I'd like to start using gaffed coins in my magic and I wish to know which coins are indispensable.
I normally use half dollars, so I was thinking to buy a shell (expanded half), a flipper coin and a folding half (but I've also heard that the butter coin can replace some of them).
Any good advice? Thanks.

I can't comment on the Butter Coin, but an Expanded Half Shell and a Folding Half are must haves.

Among others you might also want to consider Lethal Tender, Hopping Halves, Locking $1.35 Trick, Magnetic Half, Steel Core Half, Silver Shifter, Scotch and Soda, Magnetic Silver and Copper, and a Half sized Okito Box.

I purchased a Buttercoin a few weeks back from Penguin. Buttercoin can do whatever a flipper coin can do. If you have seen the mpegs/demos, it is designed to handle differently.... without the needed downward motion that you need to use with a flipper. The only disadvantage with using a buttercoin is that you have to use different hand displays with displaying 2 coins as compared with 3 coins (that's all I can say without giving the gaff away). I still prefer the flipper coin only because i am use to using it. I think the angles are better on the buttercoin, but I think the flipper is more flexible.

One that hasn't been mentioned is the Scotch and Soda set. It is an oldie, but still one of the best ever.

Dittos on S n S. I didn't perform the effect correctly when I first used them. But after performing the effect correctly, they are very good. Being only a few hours away from Mexico border helps with Centavo albeit; they use a smaller Centavo now.
