Scotch & Soda... it's a classic effect with literally hundreds of different possibilities.

I'm just getting into coin tricks, but it seems to me that most use gimiked coins, so that takes away the charm to me, but I learned one years ago that used a regular coin. You borrow a quarter and wrap it in a piece of paper, allow the person to feel seeing that the quarter is really there (It really is!) then you rip the paper in two, no quarter!

I know, it's a simple trick, but it still blowes peoples minds almost as much as the raven!

Michael Ammar uses a similar effect. He puts a signed coin in the paper like you just described. He then places the signed wrapped coin in a cigarette dish, takes out a matchbook, lights a match, and burns the paper. The coin disappears from the cigarette dish and appears in the matchbook. Not with the matches.....IN the fibers of the paper IN the matchbook. He rips the paper matchbook, and pulls out the signed coin. It's one of the best object to impossible location I've ever seen.

By the way, why is everyone's favorite trick involve a gimmick?

Four coin matrix, requires no gimmick, just coins, cards, and pad.

yeah i love matrixes....they're great.

my current weapon of choice is the trick that draksig described, ive performed it a lot, and people *really* believe that the coin is in there...i usually end up pulling it from behind me knee or something like that as a reproduction. :D
