Coin rolling over fingers

I just would like to learn this coin flourish... No, I'm not going to buy anything to learn it. If anyone has any hints please reply.

I probably just need to keep trying....

I'm sure this will make coin collectors cry...

I found 5 silvers dollars dating 1922 and back

and 4 american pennies (quarter sized) from 1854 and back...

AND CLEANED THEM!

Heres a question ::

I can pretty much do the coin roll, but a book says that my fingers should remain curved. When I do it my index finger straightens out and I can't control for anything. It just goes out. Any hints?

i find it helpful to use the half dollar rather than quarters, and to just get it down very slow, and gradually increase speed--it still seems impossible though

Ah yes the steeplechase / coin roll / coin juggling flourish. Here's my advice. Don't worry about it. Yes it's flashy, yes it's fun, and yes it's become a trademark of sorts to magicians, but it's not all that practical. I use it as a warm-up when I'm practicing sleights (which I do all day at school). It's not easy and if you get out of practice you have to relearn it all over again (it's a bit faster). However, the only value I see to it is to build up general manual dexterity.

The only way to get it down is to practice.
I've practiced this sleight so much that I can do it almost
any coin and I can get it roll over my hand 6 times
in ten seconds. (six "laps")

How many times can you do it in ten seconds?

when you say "lap", do you mean all the way around your hand, cuz how do u get it 2 keep going w/out twisting ur arm socket out?

I don't know how many I can do in ten seconds, I'm having trouble concentrating on watching time and counting. Bleh.

Anyway, has anyone incorporated this into a coin routine. I mean, with the right coins, I can classic palm one and do the roll in the same hand (for a bit). I'm just trying to figure out a routine that I can use this concept in. I also learned to do two at a time on the same hand... they have to be the perfect size (dollar coins, for me). I'm wondering if I can start with one, while one is palmed, and then they could multiply.

Is anyone this skilled? Seems impossible at this point. But what else am I going to do while at work????

It's impossible for me to describe with any eloquence (or ethically, I guess), so check out Bobo's or Mark Wilson's Complete Course. I believe both have the explanation... could be wrong about Wilson. Essentially, you must learn to coordinate the thumb with the final movements of fingers 3 and 4.
