I have been using half dollars for the greater part of my career, and just recently have I purchased a few dollar coins.

Reason: Weight, the weight makes handling sooo much easier. The weight of the dollar piece equals more than the weight combined of 3 standard half dollars, easily.

Problem: There are several gaffed coins that come in the half dollar type, and unfortunetly half dollar only. There are no sources that I know of who sell gaffed dollars pieces. Not only are dollar pieces rare to begin with, but a flipper dollar piece? An expanded shell dollar piece? I know they exsist, just about every big name uses them. My question is, how would I go about finding them?

anyway, you'll find a bunch of great gimmicks that use dollar coins at the trickery. my favorite is miracle coin, but if you don't want to spend that much you could always get the low-budget vodka & oj. another fav. there is the LASER-CUT 3 in 1 dollar coin.

You know what Dan, come to think of it I may just have! But people have been posting those 2 sites forever it seems!

They are the only 2 sites I know of where people can get specially made gimmicked coins that Penguin doesn't sell. I would sincerely hope that in a case like this that Penguin would make an exception. But now that you brought it up, I'll run it past Acar and see what he says. I hope he says it's OK because people really need this kind of info to broaden their coin magic.
