Who is the best product maker of gimmicked coins?

I have heard that johnson make exelent coins, like the scotch and soda.

Johnson coins are excellent quality. Todd Lassen also makes top of the line stuff, but he's a bit expensive. Roy Kueppers makes good stuff too. And Eddie Gibson makes a good quality Coin Unique, both in American and British versions.

I stick with Johnson. Out of all my gaffs only one or two are not Johnson.

From what I've heard, you aren't ever going to find better gaffed coins than those from Todd Lassen. But, like Frijid said, he has high prices, so if you don't want to spend that much go with Johnson.

The best is Todd Lassen, The price is worth every penny.I must warn you though if you order from Todd...expect to wait for the coins. He is always backed up. Thats how good he is.

I go with Johnson Magic all the way, although I haven't had any experience with Todd Lassen products. I'll have to give him a try.

I checked out todd Lassen's web site... you weren't kidding about being a little pricey, but the condition of the coins and the apparent quality of the workmanship is more than a little tempting. I think I might splurge on a copper/silver or scotch-n-soda set in the near future. I'll have to save my tips up for awhile to afford it though

Same here for Johnson. They do make high-quality products. I have Sterling's Scotch & Soda and Dime & Penny, and later purchased Johnson's versions of these sets.

Significant difference in quality for the D/P - the Sterling version looks & feels inferior, and the coin isn't as "secure". Johnson's is more like the real thing, and is secure (you need a bang ring) as well as purely inspectable.

Now with the Scotch & Soda, I do admit that Sterling's is quite good. So far, no one has been able to tell it's a gimmicked coin. Johnson's S&S is very similar in appearance, but has a better sound (not as hollow). I have a buddy who has a Todd Lassen S&S set, and I compared the Johnson S&S. Hands down, Todd's is like the real deal. No visible lines, perfect craftsmanship, excellent sound, and very solid. The coin has a very smooth feel to it as the parts don't "talk". He even uses this coin in his regular, non-gimmicked routines because of it's smooth feel, which leads to smoother handling. The quality justifies its price. You can even put in a special request for a particular coin (my friend had the '75 half dollar - his birth year). You definitely get what you pay for.

Todd makes gaffs that will last a lifetime. If you really want the best...
