Are there any differences between dime and penny, and scotch and soda?

Which one do you recomend more?

anyways.....the are the exact same except that dime and penny is smaller. since they are the same thing, I guess it is whatever you prefer.

Dime and penny is good because they are common coins in the US, but they are of poor quality. Scotch and Soda are of better quality.

Believe it or not, you can do more effects with scotch and soda than you can with dime and penny. For reasons I cannot say without exposure. I have both, and no longer use dime and penny. Scotch and soda, are so well made that it makes it very difficult to go back to dime and penny.

Well, with SS, you can put them into a specs hand and have the Centavo change to a quarter. With the DP, you can only make the dime disapear.

not true... they do have mini coins on the market... you can shrink the dime.

with a little creativity you can do much more with it

Thanks alot guys. I think I'm going to get Scotch and Soda in the near future. I just ordered AOA Numero Uno so that should keep me busy for a little while.

I never thought of using the mini coins for this trick until now. I also have 2 different sizes of larger pennies, I could really come up with something good if I try...........Wow .............the ideas are flowing now !!!!!!!

i think dime and penny is better simply because everytime i do anything with them, they never want to see or even care about the penny... because whats to see, its just a penny...

As a side point, Gregory Wilson has a nice "Dime and Penny" routine on One the Spot, using a real dime and penny. The routine is called Questionable Trick. A dime and penny are placed in the specs closed hand. The spec pulls one out (say the penny) and places it on the back of his hand. The magician causes the two coins to switch places.

Dime and Penny is great for close up (but I invariably lose mine pretty quickly) and the Scotch and Soda is better for slightly larger groups. You will love them both.

Here is an idea. Perform "questionable trick" from On The Spot. When the spectator is looking at his hands in amazement, "clean up" and pull out the dime and penny trick. Grab the other dime and penny ( the ones the spectator has) and do a switch. Offer to do the trick again and this time use the gimmick dime and penny. Either they will freak when they go to pull out one coin and there is only one to pull out...or the coins didn't switch placed, one just vanished.

This is also good because they probably wont inspect your dime and penny trick because if they were suspicious they would have inspected the first dime and penny.
