I can do a muscle pass pretty well. I can launch it 3-4 inches in the air, but whenever I do it, the bottle cap (what I use for the sleight) cartwheels off to the side and flips around in midair. It looks a lot better when it just flies straight up, but I need some help on how to do that.

I would suggest that you try doing the muscle pass with a flat coin and see if you still have the same problem.

Then you'll know whether your problem is due to the shape of the bottle cap or due to some flaw in your technique.

What kind of coin should I use? A snapple bottle cap sized coin would be the right kind for me, as it fits perfectly into the position.

A half is too small for my hands. I already tried using it.

I don't recall how big your U.S. half dollar coins are, but I know I've done a muscle pass with your silver dollar coins. Actually, I normally use Canadian loonie or toonie coin - which I believe are similar in size to your U.S. silver dollars.

When you said you used a bottle cap, did you mean one of those twist off snapple bottle caps you just mentioned? I was picturing a much smaller metal bottle cap with the corrugated rims like the ones off those old 10 oz bottles.

I would think a snapple cap should be regular enough to be able to do a good muscle pass. I'll have to try that sometime.

your size of your hands has nothing to do with your muscle pass... I know a guy who can do a muscle pass with a dime and his hands are average size.

To some extent I agree ... except I think that the larger coins are easier to start with and someone may not be able to do the smaller coins right away until they've strengthened the necessary muscle(s) in their hand.
