Well, I've been reading Bobo's modern coin magic for about a year or two and I think it's time to move on. What is the difference between these coin books? Expert Coin Magic book by David Roth and Coin Magic book Richard Kaufman? What one would be the next step for me to take?

Thanks,

Austin Waldo

I vote Roth, but then again I don't have Kaufmans. I have heard it has some great material however.

Roth. Dai Vernon called him the greatest coin worker ever. That should say it all.

Kaufman is a god, but roth is a coin god, so he seems like a better choice. Coinmagic By kaufman has some roth material as well as material from other people though, so I'm not too sure which is a better buy.

Pobably coinmagic, because you can get a taste of roth and others, and then decide who's book you want to buy.

I just wanted to say that if I got one, I would get the other. So, what one is the easiest?

Thanks again,

Austin Waldo

Hey I have a similar question of what's the difference between 2 books. I searched Modern Coin Magic and there were 2 different kinds of Modern Coin Magic books. The first one is called "New Modern Coin Magic book JB Bobo (http://www.penguinmagic.com/specialorderproduct.php?ID=6570). The second one that I saw is called "Modern Coin Magic by J.B. Bobo (Book) (http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=535).

Which book is the better one?

I thought the 2 bobo coin books were the same but different release dates and titiles.

I'd recommend Roth over Kaufman for sure.

Watch out for some of those Kaufman books. His card magic book is just crud. Waste of trees.

The Kaufman books may look good on your bookshelf but they're mostly magic masturbation. I can't think of one that was a real winner

Go with "Coin Magic" as opposed to Roth's book. You will be getting a touch of Roth as well as other perspectives from some very knowledgable coin men.
When you have absorbed this book then pick up Roth's book.

Maybe the dimension is different.

Look at the dimension. Both are different right? Or maybe the whole of page?

Or, don't think so far! The title(Coin Magic and Extreme Coin Magic) is different!!

Or the magician, i think they are different...

The "new modern coin magic" has i believe 4 more chapters with some more updated material and techniques, although the original is still great. if u have the money the new one is a better choice, but if money is a major factor don't hesitate to buy the original

I too am wondering which of these books I should get. So I have another question. Does Roth Focus on shells and other gimmicked coins? I want to be able to reach into my pocket and do impromptu coin magic so if he uses lots of shells then i would definitely get the other book.

Thanks,
Ben Winter
