Using the term "close up" in the most expansive sense possible, for me personally:

coin bend,a questionable trick, pen through dollar, redline...and maybe a card to wallet.

For me, the joy of close-up is making everything look as nonchalant and clean as possible. The only object that I use which isn't found anywhere [or borrowed] is a pack of cards. I find that people respond to the most personal show possible, and most enjoy lending you a coin or a pen while waiting at a restaurant or drinking at a party. This presentation style allows for maximum flexibility during intimate social interaction which I utilize in my magic. Again, completely a personal preference.

I should perhaps note that when I'm entertaining guests at my house, I like to do things a little differently; levitating their objects, twisted sisters, Chicago opener. I basically use my kitchen as a parlour.

Now, are we saying actual tricks like, Sam the Bellhop? Because I agree with the TT, but it isn't an actual trick.

correct, its a device not an effect, i took notice to this also while reading the responses. people should name effects, not a device which can perform hundreds of different things with just that one piece of magic.

This is my top 5 list of effects that has never, ever disappointed me and always had stunning reactions.

The Invisible Palm
Add-X Card Shelf
Vox Box (I still remember seeing the local magician perform this effect many years ago, and it blew me away. Now that I own it and use it, I can then give the spectators the experience of astonishment I went through) Plus the fact that I have used it for several different effects.
The Visitor
Fresh Mint (The original routine)

So the general consensus is ACRs, something in a bottle, Sponge Balls and Cups n' Balls, and disappearing things. But I haven't seen many votes for the Stealth Pen! Come on people! Plus no twisted!

My all time fav. would be any mentalism but if I need to be specific I'd say muscel reading super easy. Although I sugest you get to know the person you're doing it to first. Works best that way for some reason

I usually don't say things like this but you've brought back old topics from years ago to say that you like (and incorrectly spelled) muscle reading about 7 times. Please please keep things relevant and current.
