am looking for a needle thru arm effect....i know there are several versions out there...i heard that andersons is very good...and that when it comes to these effects...good quality is essential...i am looking for one that can be performed in close-up situations...and one with blood....any suggestions on which one would be better for to to get...or suggestions on quality...angles...set-up time...or anything that i would need to know?

Shock FX does not teach Needle Through Arm on it. I beleive a Paperclip Through Arm. Same principle. But you don't get the special needle, and the blood, and the other things you need.

Get Dave Powell's Needle Through Arm. Here's a vid of my friend performing it.

I'm not farmiliar with what Harry's NTA comes with, but the effect/outcome is the same. It's a Needle Through Arm.

If that video leaves you asking what is better, I'm not sure if Needle Through Arm is something you're looking for.

Needle through arm is far from impromtu.. don't order it.. Shock fx does teach a very good method of the effect that is not suspicious ad won't leave you carring a needle around.. what looks more realistic.. a paper clip, or a need? obviously specs resond much better to a random act. You are ready to go at any time with paperclip through arm.. i use it all the time... get it! It's good!

Heh. You're giving out some VERY bad advice.

And you ask what is more realistic? Certainly not piercing your skin with a paperclip. And then seeing no blood?

Seriously, how many people are careful playing around with paperclips? They're dull in case you've never seen one. Oooh. Put that down before you hurt yourself.

What really drives home the illusion is that needles are SHARP. They are used to pierce skin. And most people hate needles. THAT is a fact.

You are not going to get those reactions in the video I posted, by putting a paperclip through your arm and seeing no blood.

I have a really easy way of getting the blood for the Shock FX paper clip thru arm effect. All you need is stage blood and a TT.

I hope I don't sound like a jerk when I ask you this, but are you saying that you perform this effect like that or was it just an idea? If it was an idea, glad to see you're trying to think outside the box, but did you actually think about that post before hitting the submit button?

When and how are you supposed to do the dirty work? You thumb will be covered in the stage blood. You can't ditch the tip without getting the blood everywhere. Including having your thumb covered in blood? Having it go everywhere when you remove the tip. Ect, ect, ect.
