The only difference between that pads are a color, just pick the one that fits your personality.

i have blue and it is really dark blue but remember that...

1. red pad+red cards=difficult to see
2. blue pad+blue cards=ok to see
3. green/burgandy=casino
4. black+shiny coins/any color card=nice 8)

black was sold when i ordered mine but but just something to keep in mind

I currently have a little red table-hopper pad. When I upgrade, however, I plan to get a black one. My red works well with a lot of stuff though. Sponge balls work very well with it, as mine are a darker red. Most red backed cards seem to stand out quite well. Blue backed cards, as well as coins, are perfect. It all just suits your personality though. I would say green and red are the most "classic" colours though.

I prefer black because Invisible Thread can be seen on a color like red.

i would get black.. it seems nice and cool, and if you perform it with the black tiger deck. It goes with it, showing the pips but not the border. Haha

it is just really a matter of taste. I personally choose my close - up pads by thinking how my cards should look on them.

For example I think: blue Bicycle deck and red look very pretty on a blue or a red close - up pad.

On the other hand also I think of the uses of the color.

Black can hide alot of things like invisible thread as mentioned. And many more things.

So I pick black in my case.

I think the question you should ask is HOW he made the close-up pad.

He probably got the special paper and cut it.

And why buy one? He already saved himself $12!
