Welcome to the world of hard graft my friend. Firstly, do as the man himself there says and get 13 Steps by Cordina. Secondly, ingest it. Then start looking for material by the following mentalists and theorists:

Derren Brown (Tricks of the Mind, Devil's Picture Book)
Banachek (Pre Thoughts, PK Pen, PK Touches, PSI Series, Psychological Subtleties 2)
Andy Nyman (Get Nyman, Fight Dirty)
Kenton Knepper (Kentonism, Secrets of Indirection)
Luke Jermay (7 Deceptions, Building Blocks)
Darwin Ortiz (Designing Miracles)
Richard Osterlind (Making Real Magic)
Tony Shiels (The Shiels Effect)
Jay Sankey (Beyond Secrets)

There's more than that but that's the stuff I'd recommend.

This is probably the hardest yet conversly easiest magic to get into I reckon, as if you present it right people will swear it was real; a hard feeling to get to with spectators, but one that means you can do all the sleights and magic bits and bobs and lie lie lie about not doing any magic AND GET AWAY WITH IT!! For real. Andy Nyman performs his fantastic The Hidden by telling a story of how he got into magic by learning dead cutting, then goes on to tell the audience he will stop lying to them now (a lie), he doesn't do sleight of hand magic (lie), he has no interest in it (lie). The best bit of it all is that coupled with his brilliant psychological subtleties he essentially removes any suggestion in a spectator's mind that what happened was magic. Which makes it an even more powerful kind of magic - 'real' magic. If it wansn't magic like sleight of hand or clever tricks, was it then that he really did control my mind and my actions?

Brilliant.

Good luck, enjoy your journey down this long windey path.

If you want to get into mentalism, you HAVE to get 13 Steps to mentalism.
I don't think I've heard of a product by Banachek that isn't good, however, if you want metal bending go with Liquid Metal over Psychokinetic Silverware.

PSI series volume 4 teaches two bends on the Strebler DVD, plus nails, spoons, coins and keys. Much better value for money if you ask me.
