ITs not really an effect. ITs more of a learned skill, a technique used by mentalists, detectives, gamblers, and such.
I believe Banacheck covers it on one of his dvds.
Not sure about 13 steps.

Psychophysiological Thought Reading, Muscle Reading, and if you're a goober, Hellstromism.

I believe this is also called Remote Viewing, am I correct?

13 steps teaches a basic over view of what it is, and a few methods, but no solid material.

No. Remote viewing is more like when you try to see far away, but using your mind. For instance, if you drew a picture, and I mentally tried to look at it, and draw a replica. That's the basics of it. I explained it fairly badly though.

13 Steps teaches it enough to start practicing it. Banachek is probably a better source though.

If you want to learn to do this look into Banachek's Psi series volume three DVD. I just bought it and its amazing it teaches you hellstromism, or musle reading, and its sooo easy to perform i haven't gone a day without using it since i learned how its done, banachek is an amazing mentalist and this technique takes it to a whole new level!!!!

The other HUGE benefit from learning the muscle reading from Banachek is that he not only teaches you I think five different ways of reading spectators, but also lots of routines and ideas for routines in which the method is muscle reading.

If I am correct, 13 Steps does point you in the correct direction on where to find a more in depth discussion on muscle reading.

Best,
Adam

It does. Edward Dexter's Contact Mind Reading. However, 13 steps is a must buy anyway, if you're going into mentalism. So it's best to buy that, read up on muscle reading there, see if you're interested in it, and then move from there.
