i was looking on penguin a while back and i saw a demo for a trick, but i don't remember what it was called.
basically you have three envelopes and you have each spectator chose one, and no one choses the one with a 100 dollar bill inside.

Sounds like a very basic version of "Bank Night." There are many, many, many versions of this.

It's called "There's a Sucker Born Every Minute" (Penguin's version)

You can find the general idea in Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic.

Oddly enough I have used the Bank Night from mark wilson complete course in magic,

It was a big hit!
Don't let the simplicity fools you, I sometimes use very complex methods to acheive my effects, but this one is so complex,

And presentation wise you can have a lot of fun with it, to me it almost feels like a russian roulete, because if you fail (you can't) you will loose 100$.

You can also use the same concept, ask someone to choose envelopes, put them on the floor and jump on them, the last envelope which is not selected is opened and a lot of sharp spiky stuff comes out.

Don't try this at home

That's pretty good.

When I do Bank Night I put one of those fake credit cards they send you with credit applications as the prize. No real money, makes me feel better.

You all made me want to add it again in my act .

I remember I did the osterlind version but I put in those kind of fake 1000 bill in the envelopes, like the ones you buy in dollar stores.

The guy opened the envelope and went nuts seeing it.

I think I have it on tape

Look under Mental Magic. It's in there in the index.
