Is there anything wrong with using a super sharpie/swami gimmick for more than one mentalist routine? At any point will spectators suspect the secret? I guess its common knowledge not to do the same trick twice, but what about using the same ingenious method more than once?

Depends on how you are using it. You can do so many reveals using a swami. A sealed envelope with paper inside, a billet, a folded up billet, Koran's Medallion, etc.

You can also you it for marks such as a check for a hit and an X for a miss.

If you are going to just predict numbers, then I wouldn't use it more than once, but you can vary up what you are predicting and how you predict it.

I think it's all about magican guilt, will you say to your audiences? :

«... Hey I use that thingy that sticks on my thumb! ...»

Ask yourself that question, there is nothing wrong with this.
Max.
