Has anyone seen the haunted key effect on Richard Osterlind's Mind mysteries vol 7?

I seen the explanation in the video, but I don't think it was clear enough. It talked about the strategy being shown in the book "Making Magic Real" and in the explanation, it just keep saying how Osterlind controlled the key mentally, not physically... that doesn't really help...? I tried mentally.. but failed?

Is it really done through your "mind"? or is there something else to it that I need to learn to be able to understand this effect? I don't want to purchase another thing again =/ The MM series was already expensive enough and I live in Australia...

If anyone know about this effect, or have bought Osterlind's DVD, could you please share with me how you got this effect working? I certainly can't get the effect working even with the explanation.
(If to avoid exposure, please message me)

Thanks

You are basically asking us how to make the effect work without purchasing the DVD. You are asking for exposure! You want someone to help you because you can't figure the effect out after viewing a demo or reading the description.... And no, it isn't done with your mind. The key is special.

No... I got the DVD =.=
I just don't understand the things Osterlind explained. If you have the DVD as well, you can check this. He started saying that there is a book called Making Magic real on his website that has all the kind of effects and Haunted Key is a perfect example. Then he talks about how some magicians control the key physically and then he said this trick is done mentally. Then he say if you focus and stuffs, it'll just move. And also in the explanation in the DVD, he pointed out that he was talking, so the key just went down after the "12 oclock" (you should know what I'm talking about)

Now, believe I purchased the DVD? And he didn't say we need a special key..

Edit:
You want someone to help you because you can't figure the effect out after viewing a demo or reading the description

Thats partly correct. I can't figure out after I read the explanation for the trick. Why can't I get help if I have problems with a trick that I don't understand after the explanation? What about private helps? Of course help in public = exposure, I know.

Thanks a lot exodus.

I think I'll have to buy a key first so I can practise. But I have no idea where to buy.. maybe I'll just for that kind of looking key from the key shop? Or do I have to buy the haunted key from http://www.penguinmagic.com/specialorde ... hp?ID=3082

Does anyone know?

That's a great key. I'm pretty sure that's the one that I started with.

That's the one I have, and it works well. It's pretty cheap to buy.

Then I think I'd buy that one as well.
(Dammit, I have to wait for it to ship to Australia... I can't find any of those keys from Australian online magic shop)

Thanks a lot for your contribution everyone.

Omg.. I just phoned a magic shop here in Australia and it says 20 dollars for the key... What a rip =.=

The Haunted Key is one of my signature effects. I use it regularly in my close-up act.

What Osterlind was explaining is that for presentation's sake, if YOU believe the magic is real, so will the audience.

I do the same thing. My presentation is such that I "will" the key to move in my hand and it does. I have done this effect so many times, I actually do not have to consider the secret and concentrate 100% on the act.

Here is an example I made last year: http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseacti ... d=19124826

Different keys are at different prices, not to mention the shipping charges your shops have to pay.
