I need reference on these 3 clipboards:

1) Brown hornet

2) AFA clipboard

3) X-board

I need a board for on stage live peek.

Apparently you need to lift up the papers working with the afa clipboard. With X-board you get a reverse impression. In the brown hornet you need to lift up the board as well.

Can you recommend one of the boards and why? I need a board which I can easily peek during a live show.

Regarding the hornet: can you write with markers or only pencils??

I'm not sure, but if it's what I think it is, I think the X board must be handled carefully onstage so the audience doesn't see the writing. In other words, the spectator must keep their back to the audience and the back of the clipboard toward you at all times.

I think so as well.

Does the boards give clear impressions?

I have the Baby Hornet, which is a smaller version of the Brown Hornet. The impression is extremely clear. Getting the peek is simple. It is constructed fairly well too.

You should pick up Volume one of Gods With Feet of Clay by John RIggs. It goes over every impression board he sells. He also shows you how to use them, how to peek them, etc.

Writing with a marker will not leave and impression on the Hornet. I use pen only for it.

If you get the Brown Hornet, get Vol 1 of Gods With Feet of Clay. It goes over simple peeks you can do write in front of someone.
