Well by the title it may seem like I'm looking for a new product. I'm not.

Well I need help with how to make mentalism not so creepy or serious. I really love mentalism and the feel of it, but I'm just not a serious person. It would look ridiculous for me to give someone a creepy stare or close my eyes and act like I'm reading their minds. So does anyone have any advice to make mentalism a little less serious and more my "style"?

I'm not looking for a mentalism product. I'm in need for a type of presentation for overall mentalism effects.

Here are some mentalism one-liners I dug up from my first post ever on this forum.

-"Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film."

-"How many of you believe in telekenesis? Raise my hand." (slowly lift up your arm with a horrified look on your face)

-"You're just jealous because the voices are talking to me and not you!"

Making jokes about mind reading is a pretty easy target, actually. You can make some funny remarks about what's in their mind. I really see it no different than presenting magic with comedy, except it's mentalism.

Thanks. I like the idea of making remarks about what's in their mind.

For humour check out this guy- http://www.mentalist.net/index.html

He's mostly known for his corporate gigs but he's fantastically funny. Check out his vids.

Force a card on someone (i.e. the 4 of diamonds) then immediatly say "put the four of diamonds back in the deck; I don't like that card."

That's a good one. I'll use it. Thanks.

Michael Finney has a nice mentalism effect where he asks spectator to think of any number..be a good trick if what I wrote matched....was your number 457? My answer correctly predicted no!

Try to make fun of serious mentalists by doing a overly dramatic impersonation of criss angel. Works like a charm for me.
